My husband, Adam, our friend, Stephen, and I decided that we desperately needed a vacation so when we heard about the party that HTC was throwing in Los Angeles for FREE we cleared our schedules and made the 5.5 hour drive to the City of Angels.

We weren’t exactly sure what to expect from HTC but this is what we knew: The party was to be held at The Kress on Hollywood Boulevard, there would be phones to play with, free food, free drinks, and free phones. So when we arrived, we were pretty excited to see what was waiting for us. We were given two free drink tickets (because it’s never safe to drink and drive) as well as a raffle form to fill out so we could take a stab at winning a free phone. We were then escorted to the roof where the party was already in motion. HTC reps were circulating through the event with their newest phones to play with, servers were walking around with hors d’oeuvres, music was playing, they even had a Guitar Hero station near the bar. And one of my favorite things at this party was a live feed of tweets with the hashtag #HTCLA. The party ran from 6PM to 9PM but it was a lot of fun!

We even met up with our Twitter friends @GamerCore, @Monique_Soto, @Nickerrides and more. We all got an on hands look at the newly released MyTouch Slide, HTC Evo and the HD2 (but who really cares about that phone?). The new MyTouch Slide was absolutely amazing. It was pretty much every thing I had expected! The only thing that I would change is the Espresso Sense UI. Not a big fan but it was still pretty cool. The Evo and HD2 were phones that I didn’t play with at the event because Adam and I both received Evos for attending Google I/O and the HD2 runs WinMo. YUCK.

As for the free phones, only 4 people went home with them. HTC raffled off two HD2s, an Evo and a MyTouch Slide. No, we didn’t win. ): But that’s ok! The party alone was worth it. We had a great time with our Twitter friends, having drinks and food on HTC at the top of Hollywood Boulevard.

Now I know a lot of you were kind of bummed that there wasn’t an HTC party near you (NYC & LA) but don’t worry! HTC is going to announce more parties! Find HTC on Facebook and RSVP once they are announced. And get their early. The first 25 people in line the day of the event get some free HTC gear as well as an extra drink! So keep an eye out for HTC in your area. (San Francisco, you’re on the waiting list but we’ll be coming for you!)
