Yesterday Engadget did a report on a new Android tablet called the Cruz, made by Velocity Micro. This tablet will have a 7 inch touch screen and will be running on Android 2.1. They received an email with pictures of the device and were wondering if they were real and where they cam from. They stated that the device was “designed to compete with both e-readers and tablets”. They also got some of the confirmed specs. This tablet will have an 800MHz processor and full support for flash 10.1. It will come in 2 different sizes 4 x 3 and 16 x 9 and will be under $300. I’m not too into this tablet but its nice to see more and more companies using android. When it comes to upcoming tablets there are better ones out there but this looks like a really good one for its price range, so if you’re into the tablet world but are tight on money this might be just right for you. One unknown feature of this device is if it will come with the android market which is a big setback but hopefully we will see it on there. There is no set date of release but the estimated time frame is “late summer”. By then, hopefully, we will be seeing a lot of these leaked android devices being released.
